Knight Riders without Shadab Khan Guyana Warriors Clash

Trinbago Knight Riders will be without all-rounder Shadab Khan when they take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Saturday at Providence Stadium, Guyana.

The Pakistani leg-spinner has taken 10 wickets in six matches but was forced to return home after the Pakistan Cricket Board cancelled the No-Objection Certificates given to 13 players playing in the CPL and the English county league.
Knight Riders manager Colin Borde admitted Shadab would be missed.
“Certainly a player of his quality is a huge loss, the Pakistanis leaving are a loss to the league,” Borde said.
Borde was confident that the TKR had the depth to deal with the gap left by the departure of Khan.
“When this squad was selected we choose players for different courses and as such we have the men to play well on the slow tracks in Guyana. We also have enough fire power in there make up for the loss of Shadab so we are confident,” Borde said.
The Knight Riders face the Warriors at Providence, where a large partisan crowd is expected to cheer on the home team.
“We know that we will be facing a 15,000-strong contingent in terms of the crowd and they would be reminding us that we are in enemy territory. However, we have to be guarded and just go out there, taking it one match at a time and looking to do our best,” said Borde.
The Trinbago Knight Riders have won five of their six matches so far, including a victory against Guyana Amazon Warriors in a run of three consecutive wins.
However, Borde says team management is wary of complacency creeping into the squad.
“There is no complacency here, we are aware of how much games we have played and the other teams are climbing the table,” said Borde.
