WOMAN CHARGED FOR STABBING POLICE OFFICER

 Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 15, 2018 (RSCNPF): Erica de Asa is currently in Police custody for stabbing a Police Officer who was attempting to end an altercation in which she was involved. She was charged for the offence of Wounding With Intent on Tuesday, May 15.

On May 11, 2018 Police Constable McIntyre Eloi of Tabernacle Village reported to the Charlestown Police Station that he was at Mojito’s Bar at Craddock Road when a fight occurred.  He identified himself to the persons involved as a Police Officer in plain clothes. Erica de Asa, a national of the Dominican Republic who resides in Bath Village, stabbed Constable Eloi using a piece of glass bottle. He received injuries to his face and other parts of his body. He was taken to the Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and discharged.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing
