MINISTER HAMILTON TO ADDRESS NATION TODAY ON WORLD FOOD DAY 2018

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 16, 2018 (SKNIS): Minister of Agriculture, the Honourable Eugene Hamilton, will address the nation on World Food Day 2018, which is celebrated every year on October 16 in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945.
The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development. World Food Day is a day of action dedicated to tackling global hunger. On this day, people from around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate worldwide hunger from our lifetime.

The address will be carried on ZIZ Television (Channel 5 in St. Kitts and Channel 98 in Nevis) on Tuesday, October 16, at 12:15 pm, 3:15 pm, and 8:00 pm. It will also be carried on ZIZ Radio (96 FM) at 12:30 pm, 4:00 pm, and 7:30 pm.

The theme for World Food Day 2018 is “Our Actions are Our Future. A #Zero Hunger World By 2030 is Possible”.
