YOUNG MEN URGED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF JOBS AVAILABLE IN THE SECURITY FORCES

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, November 14, 2018 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris is encouraging persons in St. Kitts and Nevis, particularly young men, to take advantage of the job opportunities available to them across the security forces.

Speaking during his Press Conference earlier today (Wednesday, November 14), Prime Minister Harris said there are about eighty (80) jobs available in the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF), Her Majesty’s Prison and the Fire and Rescue Services Department.

Furthermore, the National Security Minister noted that the security infrastructure in the country has been significantly improved as a result of the excellent teamwork that exists between local law enforcement and officers of the Regional Security System (RSS).

The additional manpower being provided by the RSS has not only resulted in improved security in the country, but has also allowed for the training of police recruits to continue uninterrupted.

“These recruits [Course 42] will pass out in December 2018, bringing vital support to law enforcement at our most hectic time of the year,” Dr. Harris added.

Prime Minister Harris reminded the nation that while the Government is committed to doing all in its power to keep the people safe, “Security starts with each individual, each institution, each community doing its part to keep safe [and] cooperating with the agents of law and order.”
