Molineux/Cayon to meet Newtown United in finals of Keeth Arthurton T20 Tournament

Basseterre, St. KittsDecember 9, 2018 (DBSKN) — After having suffered a setback one week ago at the hands of Newtown United Cricket Club, Molineux/Cayon have bounced back and will meet the same team in today’s (Sunday December 9) finals of the Development Bank Keeth Arthurton T20 Tournament at the Conaree Cricket Grounds starting 1:30 pm.

In a second tier playoff match yesterday (Saturday December 8) at the Conaree Cricket Grounds, Molineux/Cayon dispatched a spirited Sandy Point Cricket Club by 23 runs.

The team won the toss and sent Sandy Point to field. Molineux/Cayon scored 163 for 6 with Christanja Carey making 31 runs, Leon Clarke 33, Jaeel Clarke 30, and Jacques Taylor 21. In their bowling Sandy Point’s Captain Dilyn Liddie took two wickets, while Shane Jeffers, Elyin Berridge and Jaison Peters took one wicket a piece.

Sandy Point replied with 140 for 8, as Greg Stanley made 38 runs, Shane Jeffers 29 runs and Captain Dilyn Liddie making 24 runs. In their bowling, Molineux/Cayon saw Miguel Smith take three wickets, Jacques Taylor two wickets, Mrinal Wadhwa two wickets and Captain Larry Audain one wicket.

As Molineux/Cayon won by 23 runs, their Jacques Taylor who is also the St. Kitts National Cricket captain was named man of the match.

Match officials were Luther Kelly and Wycliffe Mitcham as standing umpires, and Sherleen Maloney as the third umpire. Scorers were Vanroy Agard (computer), Dominique Phipps (book), and Jasmine Maynard (scoreboard), while Ricky Bharat ensured the match was live-streamed on Facebook
