SKELEC successfully conducted a comprehensive drill at Buckleys Indoor Substation on Cayon Street as part of its commitment to enhancing safety protocols and preparedness. The drill, which simulated an explosion scenario, was aimed at testing the preparedness and coordination of first responders, was conducted in commemoration of SKELEC’s Safety Week of activities. The exercise provided a valuable opportunity for all parties involved to assess their response protocols, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen collaboration in managing potential emergencies.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 23, 2024 (SKNIS):  Upon returning from his recent overseas engagements today, April 23,  the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, met immediately with James Sutton,  Commissioner of Police within the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, and Commander Lt. Colonel J. Anthony Comrie, of the St. Kitts and Nevis Defense Force (SKNDF), to discuss the current security landscape and strategic responses to the nation’s crime situation. The meeting aimed to reinforce the government’s commitment to maintaining national safety and improving responses to criminal activities.
