SENIOR MINISTER AMORY URGES YOUTH TO LIVE A LIFE OF POSITIVITY
Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 14, 2019 (SKNIS): Over 200 young persons from all secondary and tertiary institutions in St. Kitts and Nevis were encouraged to live a life of positivity, which will assist them in achieving their personal and professional goals so that they can continue to make an even more meaningful contribution to nation building.

The point was made by the Honourable Vance Amory, Senior Minister and Minister of Labour and Ecclesiastical Affairs, on Thursday, February 14, 2019, during the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis’ National Consultation on Youth Forum held at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel, where members of Cabinet were given the opportunity to dialogue with a cross-section of the youth population.

“As young people, I have one thing to ask and that is to invite you, to challenge you to adopt a positive attitude to life. I want you to see yourselves as having the future ahead of you and use the opportunity that have been given in schools, in social environment, and community groups, to equip yourselves to be the best that you can be for your country,” said Senior Minister Amory.

Minister Amory wished the youth a fruitful discussion and thanked all who played an integral role in ensuring that the forum was realized.

Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, shared similar sentiments, welcomed the youth, and assured them of government’s commitment to creating a better and brighter St. Kitts and Nevis for all to thrive.

“Our task is to work with you, to lead for you, a St. Kitts and Nevis of which you can be proud and in which you would want to build, to make safer, better and more prosperous,” said Prime Minister Harris. “We want to have a national conversation with our young people so that, together, we can join intellectually in the idea that we can now make St. Kitts and Nevis the best place to live, grow, attend school and the best place for any and everything to happen,” he added.

Prime Minister Harris encouraged the youth population to face the future with confidence, hope, and an attitude that citizens and residents can accomplish and overcome challenges and temptations to achieve goals.
